Podcasts

Sermons can be hosted in MV Pro 3 as a Podcast and displayed easily on both the front page of your website, on a searchable Sermon page display, and as an Content Block on an Page, Post or Event.

Creating a Podcast Channel

To create a Sermon Podcast, first create a Podcast Channel by going to Content: Recordings. This displays a grid of any existing Recordings. Click on the yellow button: Podcast Channels. From there, click on the Add New button. A Podcast Channel requires a type name, an extended title and a description, as well as an image (1400 x 1400). You may want to use an image/graphic that has the name of your organization as well as the title of the Podcast Channel. In addition to selecting categories that apply to your Podcast, if you wish to feed your Podcast automatically to an external podcast streaming platform, you may enter the links to your account on that platform under Customization: Streaming Links. By entering your account link, any Podcast Recording that you enter will automatically be shared with that podcast streaming platform. An advantage of sharing your recordings on podcast streaming platforms is that they are discoverable by an audience that might not come to your website and that podcast subscribers on those platforms will receive push notifications when new content is published.

The streaming platforms that MV Pro 3 can share recordings to include:

• Spotify
• Stitcher
• Google Podcasts
• PocketCasts 
• TuneIn Radio

Adding a Sermon Recording to a Podcast Channel
Prior to adding a sermon recording, you will need to have established a Sermon Podcast Channel, and the Speaker, who is delivering the sermon will need to have been entered in the People module. It is also helpful to decide:

• What naming convention will you follow for sermons?
• Will you link to any readings or external links in the description?
• Will you include a pdf of the text of the sermon?
• Will you also include a video of the sermon (or of the entire service)?
• Will you feature the speaker or will there be a piece of artwork to represent the sermon?

1. Front Page Display - set under Theme: Front Page: Podcast
2. Podcast searchable listing - an automatically generated searchable list of all Recordings of a particular Podcast Channel
3. Content Block: Podcast, added to a Page, Post or Event
