Your logo can be updated at any time in System - Site Settings, in the Accounts tab that comes up first. Click "Update New Logo" and upload your file, which must be a jpg or png. You cannot upload the original design file. Once you have uploaded your desired logo, scroll down to hit update. But before you do, keep these things in mind:
- Once you upload a new logo and click Update, the old one is overwritten, so always have a backup in place – like the original logo.
- A logo shouldn't be image-sized. For example, an image on a page or post might be 800x1200 pixels. A slide would be even bigger, something like 1200x750 pixels. A logo shouldn't be that big, and should be around 400 pixels in width or smaller.
- Your logo should have a transparent background. When you upload a logo to the site, it will display on the back end before you hit update. If you see that your logo is inside of a white rectangle, the logo has a white background, and you should not click update – you should stop, obtain a version of the logo that does not include a white background, and wait to upload that version.
