Why duplicate a form? Why not just use last year's form?
You will likely have many recurring annual events for which you will build a form - Easter flower dedications, annual event sign-ups, etc. Rather than re-using an existing form, however, you most likely will want to make a duplicate. Using the existing form would mean that this year's response data would be simply added to last year's response data. All data from both years would be included when you downloaded the responses as a CSV. Creating a new form by duplicating the old form ensures that this year's response data is distinct from last year's response data. Also, if you need to modify the fields or any of the form settings, you can do that on the duplicate while still maintaining the integrity of the previous version.
How to Duplicate a Form
It's easy to duplicate an existing form. Locate the form you'd like to duplicate in the form grid.
Check the box in the first column of the form grid, next to the name of the form you'd like to duplicate.
In the upper right hand side of the screen, go to the drop down "With Selected" menu and choose "Duplicate".
A copy of your form will appear in the grid and can be edited like any other form. You can change the settings - title, response text, etc. and the fields.
Replacing a Form
When you have created an updated form from a duplicate, you still need to replace it on your site or create content on your site to containing the form. If you need to replace an older form - go to the Page or Post where the previous form was embedded. Delete that Code Block, then follow the usual steps to add the new form, choose the Forms code block and select the new form to be embedded.
