Getting starting with Podcasts is a big step. We're going to walk you through how to load that content to your website and ensure you know what you are responsible for and what the MV Pro team is responsible for.
- Determine which channels your podcast media will fall under. In the MV Pro platform, podcast channels must be designated before uploading individual podcast media so that you can choose which channel to add the individual podcast media to.
- What's a channel? - A channel in MV Pro provides a category for each of your episodes to reside within. Each episode must be categorized, therefore a podcast episode cannot be created before a channel is created for it to associate under.
- Create an account in the external platforms that you’d like to connect to the MV platform, if any. Create an Apple Podcast account as a podcaster; create a Spotify account as a podcaster
- Have your audio files in .mp3 format for upload to the MV platform. If you’re not sure what format your audio is in, look at your file name. It should say something like “fileName.mp3”
- Prepare a standard square image (or images) that will always be used for podcast episodes.
- Apple requires a 3000 pixel minimum size photo.
It is important to note that the management of your podcast is up to you, rather than the Membership Vision team. As with any content maintenance once your website is live, the MV team is responsible for providing support both synchronously and asynchronously, troubleshooting, and providing website assistance in the event of an emergency. This means that the MV team is not responsible for setting up and/or maintaining your external podcasting accounts, though we're happy to walk with you through the process!
