The high level menu on a MV website is not generated automatically. If you want to add or remove, or re-order items on the menu, that must be done independently of creating the page, post, event, podcast or external URL that the menu item connects to.
Adding a Main Menu Item
Go to Components: Menus
- Scroll down to the Main Menu
- Click on the blue button "Add a New Menu Item to the Main Menu"
In the pop up:
- Add a Label - this is the text of the menu item
- Click on Set URL
- Choose a Page, Post/Event, Podcast or Custom
- Begin typing name of the Page, Post/Event or select the podcast or type the full URL
- Choose the Parent menu item from the dropdown on the right
Removing a Main Menu Item
Go to Components: Menus
- Scroll down to the Main Menu
- Continue scrolling until you see the item you want to delete
- Hover over the item you want to delete and click on the trash can
Note: This will delete only the menu item, it will not delete the page, post/event, or podcast the menu item connected to. Also, if you delete a parent menu item, all submenu items underneath will also be deleted.
Re-arranging Menu Items
Go to Components: Menus
- Scroll down to the Main Menu
- Scroll to the item you want to move
- Click on it and drag and drop it to a new location
Note: if you are moving a sub-menu item to a new parent, it may be easier to edit it and re-assign the parent.
